Visual Literacy – Narrative Writing

In class we have been looking at the importance of ‘Visual Literacy’. Images are all around us, and the ability to interpret them meaningfully is a vital skill for students to learn.

The students of 3/4V were asked to bring to class a photo from home.  We then displayed these photos and discussed what the each picture was about, if it was a special event, where the photo was taken etc.

The students chose a photo they liked that did not belong to them. They then wrote a narrative with that photo in mind.
